A SOMERSET town described to have a 'mystical ambiance' has been named the UK's top glamping spot.

Glamping, a more luxurious version of traditional camping, has risen in popularity in recent years - with nature enthusiasts enjoying comfort and style paired with the great outdoors.

The town of Glastonbury has ranked the most popular spot for such getaways, in the entirety of the UK.

It ranked above notorious beauty spots such as the Peak District, the Lake District, Cornwall, and Norfolk, with an average monthly Google search volume of 3,900.

The results compiled White House Glamping state Glastonbury ranks top of the list due to its 'mystical ambiance and spiritual significance' among other attractions.

A spokesperson said: "Glastonbury offers unique glamping experiences amidst its rolling hills and ancient sites.

"Visitors can stay in themed yurts, bell tents, or even gypsy caravans, each adorned with bohemian decor and eco-friendly amenities.
