CULM Valley BC held their annual handicap doubles tournament on Thursday.
A large entry saw two groups playing on a round robin basis with the top two pairs from each group qualifying for semi-finals.
In Group A, Jeremy Smith and Mike Anderson finished six points clear of Richard Aze and Julie Jackson.
Group B saw the young Tom Kemsley and Claire Penberthy go unbeaten to top the group with Paul Madge and Jenny Scott in second place.
Smith and Anderson won the first semi, beating Madge and Scott to go through to the final, impressively dropping only one point in five matches.
The second semi saw Kemsley and Penberthy lose their unbeaten run in a hard fought match against Aze and Jackson.
The final gave Aze and Jackson a chance to gain revenge after suffering an earlier loss to Smith and Anderson.
After previously losing 21-15, they fought all the way and played outstandingly to take a comfortable win and lift the title.
Aze is now a three times winner while his new partner is a double winner.
Culm Valley play competitive badminton every week throughout the year.
