HONG Chau continued his recent good run of form as he won the Pengelly Cup at Padbrook Park.

Chau who will now play off a handicap of five as a result of two excellent recent round shot a level par 72 in difficult scoring conditions.

He was helped on his way with a birdie at the par four second and his score could have been even better but for two dropped shots in the last three holds.

Gareth Parker took second spot two shots back. He was heading for victory but he also struggled on the closing holes and had three double bogeys in the last four holes. John Locke, who now leads the Order of Merit was third after a nett 75.

Harry Evans made it two wins in a week as he added the nett Junior Club Championship to the Bill Blundell Classic. In difficult scoring conditions Evans shot a nett 79.

A birdie on the par five 11th played a key role and he enjoyed a two shot victory over Sheridan Vile. Vile’s chances of taking the title ended with a triple bogey on the 17th. Sam Palmer was a shot further back in third place.
