ROSEMARY Perry secured the ladies' Hamilton Cup at Tiverton on Sunday.

The former ladies' captain posted a nett 82 on a day of high scoring, which was largely due to the course playing long after the recent heavy rain.

Perry finished two ahead of fellow 19-handicapper Maureen Postles in the event, for ladies who had won a medal during the year.

Postles qualified after winning the October Medal four days earlier.

She posted a nett 78 to top the Silver Division while Trish Bending was the best scorer in the Bronze Division with 83.

October Medal results: Silver Division – 1 Maureen Postles (97-19=78); 2 Val Walker (94-13=81); 3 Alison Hilton (96-15=81). Bronze Division – 1 Trish Bending (105-22=83); 2 Kay Leach (107-23=84); 3 Julie Hasell (115-28=87).

Nixie Acfield continued his winning streak by lifting the juniors' Heathcoat Trophy on Sunday.

The Blundell's School student posted a level-par gross 71 for a nett 66 in sunny but soggy conditions.

He was followed by Grace Jackson (69) and Jimmy Heard (70).

The Holland Trophy was played alongside the event and Jon Audin won it with 42 stableford points.

Mollie Pilling (41) and George Sampson (38) were also in the prizes, edging out Ollie Clarke (37), Tom Trowbridge (37), Jay Scott (36) and Charlie Sampson (36).

In the non-CONGU stableford over nine holes, Dan Tidborough (21) took first prize ahead of Albert Southall-Brown (16) and Jamie Waterman (15).

Emily Vickery (18) won the nine-hole non-CONGU event off the blue tees in front of Harriet Davey (17) and Harry Pryce (14).

Tidborough was nearest the pin on the 4th while Danny Perry claimed the prize on the 15th.

The South returned to winning ways in their annual challenge match with the North when they recorded a hard-fought 10-8 victory on Saturday.
