PHIL Moore and Duncan Stamp ended Cary Rawlings and Hamish Marshall’s hopes of a summer doubles double at Padbrook Park.

Moore and Stamp won the Foursomes final 3&2. They made a great start to go two up only to be pegged back by the sixth.

However three successive wins gave them a stranglehold on the match.

Rawlings and Marshall reduced the gap to one but Moore and Stamp used shots on the 15th and 16th holes to secure the victory.

Stamp could be on course for his own double. He is through to the final of the Consolation Singles after victory over defending champion Ian Carvell.

He now plays Mike Partridge who saw off Pete Waters 5&4.

Doubles partners Marshall and Rawlings will contest the Golden Eagle Scratch Cup final for the second successive year.

Rawlings was too strong for Pete Jones while defending champion Marshall ground out a one hole victory over Mike Partridge.

Marshall, who won last year’s final on the last hole, was never ahead until he won the 18th hole.

Padbrook Park Away Day(at Torquay GC): 1 M Partridge 33pts, 2 P Moore 33, 3 H Marshall 31.
