Exeter Chiefs inflicted a first defeat of the season on Saracens with a gutsy 14-12 victory at Sandy Park yesterday.

The first half was dominated by the boot with Exeter's Ignacio Mieres slotting over three penalties to Owen Farrell's two.

Farrell added two more penalties after the break but the match was decided by Sireli Naqelevuki who took advantage of Chris Ashton's sin-binning for the game's only try.
