CHRIS Fisher became the inaugural winner of the Bill Blundell Challenge with a score of 38 points.

A birdie three of the 13th and a par on the last ensured he finished one point ahead of Rod Hutchings.

Gary Stevenson was a point further back in third place.

The event attracted the biggest field of the season so far at Padbrook.

Bill Blundell Challenge: 1 C Fisher 38pts, 2 R Hutchings 37, 3 G Stevenson 36, 4 P Moore 34, 5 C Rawlings 33, 6 C Manley 33, 7 C Senik 33, 8 J Reed 32.

Padbrook Park moved into second place in the East Devon League with a 4-1 victory over Woodbury Park.

Padbrook won three and halved the other two matches to register their first win of the season after a defeat to leaders Honiton and a draw with defending champions Sidmouth.

Midweek Stableford: 1 J Reed 18pts, 2 D Payne 18, 3 S Held 18, 4 A Hutchings 18, 5 C Senik 17, 6 M Partridge 17.

Jamie Smith romped to victory in the latest pro shop stableford event. He finished with 38 points, five points clear thanks to birdies at the second and tenth holes. Alex Held was second one point ahead of Nick Cowley.

Pro Shop Stableford: 1 J Smith 38pts, 2 A Held 33, 3 N Cowley 32, 4 R Broomfield 32, 5 J Locke 32, 6 D Stamp 32, 7 P Jones 31.

The Seniors' July Stableford was reduced to nine holes due to poor weather conditions. Adrian Bromfield took the honours ahead of Ray Cavill.

Seniors match results: Exminster 3.5, Padbrook Park 2.5; Vivary Park 3, Padbrook Park 3.
