FOOTBALL: Tiverton v Buckland Athletic is postponed FOOTBALL: Tiverton v Buckland Athletic is postponed

Tiverton Town's first team friendly away to Buckland Athletic tomorrow has been cancelled as no pitch is available.

That means the first time the Yellows will play together is next Friday when they host Willand Rovers.

The FA Cup draw wasn't exactly kind to the Mid-Devon sides with not a home game in sight in the opening round.

However, Elmore's inclusion was confirmed as they made the cut by the skin of their teeth thanks to their 1-0 victory over Shrewton United at the end of last season.

One less league point and Elmore would have missed out as their place was awarded on a points per game basis.

They travel to fellow Toolstation Western League Division One side Sherborne Town in the Extra Preliminary Round on August 11 with the winners at home to Odd Down or Saltash United in the Preliminary Round on August 25.

Willand Rovers are away to Larkhall Athletic in the Extra Preliminary Round.

With both sides playing in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division, they should know each other well.

A stiff task awaits the winners as they host Evo-Stik Southern League South & West side Bridgwater Town a fortnight later.

This is also the stage that Tiverton Town join the fray and they travel to Clevedon Town who also play in their division.

The draw for the First Round Qualifying was also made and, potentially, Tivvy could host Elmore while Willand could be entertaining former Western League side Frome Town who are now in the Southern League Premier Division.

In the FA Trophy it’s an all Southern League affair as Tiverton Town face a daunting 270 mile round trip to Thatcham Town on September 15.

Thatcham Town were in the South & West Division last season but have been switched to the Central Division due to their geographical position.

With Willand’s Vase exploits earning them exemption to the Second Round, and Cullompton Rangers earning a bye in the First Round Qualifying, Elmore have been drawn at home to Exmouth Town from the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Division 1 East (one step below Elmore's level).

Crediton United are at home to Bishop Sutton who play two steps higher than them in the Western League Premier Division.

Cullompton are away to the winners of the Western League clash between First Division Chard Town and Premier side Odd Down.

ELMORE Under-18s have started pre- season training at Horsdon from 6.45pm on Tuesday evenings and are training with the first and second team squad. All players are welcome to attend.

The Eagles play in the Somerset floodlight league. There are no match fees or training fees and transport is laid on for away games.

RESULTS: Tuesday, July 10: Crediton United 2, Tiverton Town XI 5; Exmouth Town 0, Tiverton Town XI 4.

FIXTURES: Friday, July 13 (7.30pm): Crediton United v Wellington; Saturday, July 14 (3pm): Galmpton United v Cullompton Rangers; Tuesday, July 17 (7.30pm): Ilfracombe Town v Cullompton Rangers; Thursday, July 19 (7.30pm): Crediton United v Willand Rovers.
