FOOTBALL: Tiverton face Willand in first friendly

Tiverton Town kick off their pre-season friendlies on Friday, July 20 at home to Willand Rovers (7.30pm), writes Nigel Davis.

They follow that up with a trip to Torquay United on Tuesday, July 24 (7.30pm).

Other matches arranged are: Friday, July 27, home v Chippenham Town (7.30pm); Tuesday, July 31, home v Plymouth Argyle (7.45pm); Saturday, August 4, home v Truro City (3pm); Saturday, August 11, home v Weymouth (3pm).

All the home friendlies will be free for under 16s.

The draw for the Devon St Luke’s Cup sees Tiverton Town awarded a bye to round two when they travel to Dartmouth for what is believed to be the first time in over 60 years.

In round one, Cullompton Rangers have been drawn at home to holders Buckland Athletic in a repeat of last season’s semi-final while Willand Rovers and Elmore play each other at Silver Street with the victors being rewarded with a plum home tie with Exeter City.
