AARON Edwardes of Tiverton Amateur Boxing Club made his bid for the Devon, Dorset and Cornwall Under 75kilo title on Friday night at Torquay’s Acorn Centre against Weymouth boxer Toby Osmond from Weymouth abc.
But there was disappointment for Edwardes when he lost the bout — consisting of three two-minute rounds — on an unanimous decision. It was a result which incensed Edwardes’ corner with them feeling the lad had delivered a near faultless display.
A furious Tiverton coach, Paul Harvey, said: “There’s no way he lost the bout. My heart goes out to Aaron because personally I think that's the best I've seen him box and for this to happen is unbelievable.”
