MARTIN Cherry stands in the way of Keith Radbourne pulling off a singles knock out double at Padbrook Park.

Radbourne won the summer event in 2011 and is through to the final of the winter version.

He saw off Tom Evans in the quarter-finals and Phil Reed in the last four.

Meanwhile Cherry proved too strong for Ian White in their semi-final tie.

Duncan Hepburn chipped in for a birdie on the first play-off hole as he and Ray Williams reached the final of the Winter Fourball Betterball.

It was sweet revenge after the pair lost to Cary Rawlings and Hamish Marshall in last year's final.

Rawlings and Marshall were three up with five to play but Williams came to the fore and helped level matters by the 17th.

The final two holes were halved in par before Hepburn's magical shot on the first extra hole.

In the final they will play John Locke and Chris Fisher who proved too strong for Chris Senik and Phil Strawford in the other semi final. Pete Jones has taken an early lead in the season-long Order of Merit. He has a three point lead over 2010 winner Tom Evans as the summer season is about to move into full swing.

Order of Merit (latest standings): 1 P Jones 23pts, 2 T Evans 20pts, T3 P Knight 17pts, T3 J Palmer 17pts, T3 K Radbourne 17pts, 6 S Held 16, T7 A Rooker 12, T7 C Senik 12, T7 R Cavill 12, T7 C Rawlings 12.
