SKITTLES: All to play for in Sampford Peverell and district league

DIVISION A of the Sampford Peverell and district league remains very tight with just two points separating the top three teams.

In Division B Barley Knockons have opened up a gap of four points although Hare and Hounds are flying up the table with a wet sail.

In Division C Lions Cubs have been overtaken by Lumberjacks and Merrimeade as they drop to fourth.

Rose & Crown took a 20 pin lead after two legs. The Dogz managed to pull a few pins back but not enough, and lost the game by 26 pins.

Tiverton RBL went nine pins down after two legs, then took White Horse by storm, taking the next three legs to go into the lead. WH had no answer.

The Merriemeade against Tiverton Chiefs was a game of two halves. Merrimeade were 29 pins but saw their lead cut to 17 by the end.

Lion Cubs went seven pins up after two legs, then Crossways took control and went ahead by seven themselves. A tremendous surge of scoring saw both teams post legs of 92 to tie the 5th leg. Crossways scored 83 in last leg to win by 15 pins.

Lumberjacks won at a canter, scoring 74 pins to take the first five legs. Halfway House struggled with a man short and lost by a decisive 70 pins.

The Agri-nuts swept to a lead of 26 pins at halfway stage. Farmers cut that by by seven pins but Agri-nuts added another six at the death to win by 25.
