Wellington suffered their third successive Toolstation first division defeat when they went down 3-1 at home to highly-rated Cadbury Heath yesterday.
Manager Colin Merrick responded to his side's recent poor run by including three loan signings from Taunton Town, who were without a game.
Darren Rice and Jamie Short were both in the starting line-up while Simon Stone was on the bench.
And Wellington gave a good account of themselves in the first half against a side who are among the favourites for promotion this season.
Cadbury Heath went ahead after 37 minutes when a quick free-kick was played to Nick Dyer, who sent a stunning shot over keeper Wayne Lawrence.
But Wellington hit back to equalise before the break as the ball came out to Short whose low driver squeezed under keeper Simon Crawford.
The second half was a different story, however, as the home side seemed to lose their way and Cadbury Heath extended their lead after 52 minutes as a long throw was headed home by Sacha Tong.
The visitors also hit the woodwork and had an effort cleared off the line before adding a third in the dying minutes, Mark Reynolds heading home a pinpoint cross.
