Toolstation League premier division: Radstock Town 4, Wellington 4.

IT was two points dropped rather than a point gained as Wellington were held at Radstock yesterday.

Wellington were never at the best and went 1-0 down after 12 minutes when a ball into the box came out to Clinton Wilson, who coolly chipped it into the net.

The visitors drew level on the half-hour as some trademark slick passing ended with Craig Herrod scoring with a shot across keeper Gary Stevens.

It was nip and tuck with Radstock regaining their lead after 43 minutes through a thumping Lee Bryant volley only for Wellington to equalise again just before the break as skipper Simon Ingram scored from a brilliantly executed free kick.

Five minutes into the second half, Wellington took the lead for the first time when Craig Mawford’s low cross was turned in by Sam Williams.

And when they increased their lead on the hour – Ingram scoring from the penalty spot after a needless foul on Darren Stone – they looked odds-on for another victory.

But Radstock could see a lifeline as James Billing was left in too much space to make it 4-2 with ten minutes remaining.
