THE Queen’s College under-10s team were pipped to the post in the final of their own tournament.
A total of 16 South-West prep school teams took part in the annual Queen’s under-10s mini rugby tournament sponsored by O’Neills.
Queen’s played some excellent rugby during the morning and marched into the final with a string of impressive performances against Taunton Prep, Plymouth Prep, Wells Cathedral Junior, Exeter Cathedral and Blundell’s Prep.
The final was a closely-fought contest against Chafyn Grove from Salisbury, with the visitors snatching victory in the closing minutes.
Director of sport Dick Wilde said: “Yet again this proved to be a highly enjoyable event, with all the children playing a high standard of rugby.”
