Somerset County League Division 1: Watchet Town 4, Worle 0.

WATCHET Town defeated second-in-the-table Worle to make it four straight league wins which moved them up to fourth in the table.

The scoreline would suggest a one-sided affair but it was far from that.

Worle had the better of the opening exchanges but found themselves a goal behind when Steve Wild scored from the penalty spot after a foul on Louis Allen.

After that Worle spurned three one one ones, had a goal disallowed and hit the angle of bar and post.

But the Red and Blacks survived and took a two-goal lead before the break when Jason Worth nodded a corner back across goal and Allen's back header went in.

Watchet were far more comfortable after the break and extended their lead when Jason Worth fired in at the near post after running through from the left back position.

Victory was secured soon after as Ben Saddington's pass was pulled back by Wild for Allen to hook the ball home.

This Saturday, the Red and Blacks are away to leaders Odd Down Reserves.
