Somerset County League Premier Division: Taunton Blackbrook 0, Cutters Friday 0.

TAUNTON Blackbrook and Cutters contested an entertaining contest, despite an absence of goals.

Both sides had opportunities to take the points, but defences were largely on top in an end to end affair.

Simon Stone went closest for the hosts in the opening period. First, he was put through by Eubio do Rosario but his effort was saved and he was also denied by the Cutters' keeper from a direct free kick.

After the break, Cutters came more into the game and were a whisker away from taking the lead when they found space at the far post only for the ball to be put into the side-netting.

Just a minute later Joe Holder latched onto Scott Graham's pass and beat the keeper but he adjudged to be off-side.

Blackbrook's man of the match, chosen by their new president Des Badcock, was Dan Pepperell.

This Saturday, they are away to Glastonbury Town in the league.
