ALLAN Gill continued his excellent form to secure victory in the final of the winter knock-out singles at Padbrook Park.
Gill has enjoyed an excellent run in the event which continued with an unlikely one hole victory over Keith Radbourne.
He had to do it the hard way. Despite winning the first hole, Gill found himself four down at the turn and Radbourne appeared to tighten his hold on the match to extend the lead to five after the 11th.
But Gill found inspiration from somewhere to win the next three holes including a birdie on the 13th.
He won the 16th and a birdie on the 17th, thanks to a 20 foot putt, saw him level the match.
A par was good enough on the final hole to secure the trophy.
Padbrook’s hopes of a good run in the Daily Mail Foursomes ended as Hong Chau and Richard Asson were beaten in their first match at Tiverton.
Home advantage was key as the Padbrook pair were always behind.
