RUGBY: Exeter Chiefs go second in the league
EXETER Chiefs moved up to second in the Premiership table on Friday with victory away to leaders Northampton.
Chiefs won 24-18 after leading 21-6 at half time.
Tommy Waldrom scored two tries after Luke Cowan-Dickie had crossed with the first score of the match.
Gareth Steenson was in good kicking form, adding three conversions and a penalty.
Exeter Chiefs: Dollman; Nowell, Slade, Hill, Jess; Steenson, Chudley; Rimmer, Yeandle, Francis; Mumm (capt), Welch; White, Armand, Waldrom.
Replacements: Cowan-Dickie, Moon, Low, Caldwell, Horstmann, Thomas, Whitten, McGuigan.
Attendance: 13,362.
