HAMISH Marshall fired back-to-back birdies to win the Scratch Cup at Padbrook Park.

The five handicapper beat Cary Rawlings 3&1 in the final. He won the first two holes which included a birdie on the first.

He maintained that advantage at the halfway stage. Rawlings won the 11th with a birdie but Marshall hit back at the next thanks to an excellent tee shot.

Rawlings looked like reducing the advantage with a tee shots to six feet on the 16th – but Marshall holed his longer putt to remain two up with two to play. His approach to two feet on the 17th secured the victory.

Curtis Edwards won the season long eclectic scratch prize. His best score on each hole saw a total of 58 on the par 72 course.

The Stableford prize went to Harry Evans – his collection of best scores brought a total of 63 points.
