MID Devon men were successful in the first round of the Parrott Shield with a superb win over Torbay by 58 shots to 21.

The home rink was dominant all the game. Dave Smith had a superb match as lead and John Lobbett, playing second, gave Jonathan Hoaen and Phil Atkins a well-built head virtually every end.

The away rink played well together which resulted in a very tight rink. Torbay conceded after the 19th end.
