Reports: Globe Appley B were playing catch up from the start as Elmore Club set the target in the first two legs. The away team extended their lead to take two wins from two games. Man of the Match was Andy Parr with a three-spare 69.

Bradninch C Club overtook Castaways after the first two legs to take a lead of 22 pins and then kept extending it to take a comfortable win. Five of the team posting 65+ hands.

The Hounds took their first win of the season, starting the game against Brass Monkeys with a 78 first leg – no mean feat on their home alley. They kept their noses ahead, only losing one leg.

Settler Boys enjoyed a better result than the previous week, winning the battle against Barmy Army. The home team, on alley first, set a target and the away team could not reach it, though they posted the highest leg of the evening with a four-spare fourth leg of 88.

Redwoods had a good start against Globetrotters, going 17 up after two legs, and were still ahead after four, with the away team going into the last leg needing four to win. They got five to claim a very narrow victory.

Lumberjacks followed Globe Appley onto the alley, and ended up 27 pins down after two legs. They were unable to get back into the game, with GA taking a comfortable win.

Bellies overtook Calverleigh after the first two legs and kept their noses in front to the end and took the points.

DIVISION B, results: Crossways 413, Barley Mow 385; HCC1 338, Bullocks 356; The Merriemeade 354, Ayshford Arms 368; The Beare 346, Uplowman 355; The Agri-Nuts 323, The Ponies 347; All Blacks 392, Roy’s Rebels 385; Bickleigh 375, Bradninch RBL 384.

High Scores: 71 – M Coombs (All Blacks, three spares); 69 – M Deane (Crossways, three spares).

Reports: Crossways took the challenge to Barley Mow, as they took the first five legs, with the away team having the small consolation of winning the last.

After two legs HCC1 had three pins in hand over Bullocks but failed to add to that as the away team took the lead and stayed there to claim the points.

Having won away the previous week The Merriemeade came down to earth with a bump as Ayshford Arms set the pace with a 12 pin advantage after two legs and then added four more to win the game.

The Beare took the first two legs but Uplowman took the next two and did enough to keep themselves in front and take the points.

The Agri-Nuts took on newly- relegated The Ponies, and found them too tough a nut to crack. Gradually the away team built up their lead and maintained it.

A man-of-the-match performance from All Blacks’ lead man M Coombs, with a three-spare 71, helped his team to a nice win over Roy’s Rebels.

After four legs Bickleigh were one pin up, but visitors Bradninch RBL overtook them in the last two legs for a nice win.
