TIVERTON Town will be hoping new signing Matt Bye will be able to galvanise their stuttering season when the Yellows visit Wimborne Town tomorrow, kick-off 3pm.
Bye made his debut at AFC Totton last Saturday and was unable to prevent Martyn Rogers’ side from slipping to a 1-0 defeat – their fourth in nine Southern league outings.
But Rogers was delighted with the central midfielder’s influence both on and off the field will be looking for Bye’s experience to continue to give his side a much-needed boost.
The 25-year-old former Bideford skipper, started his career at Exeter City, winning a Young player of the year award.
He has already enjoyed two spells at Tivvy making 32 appearances in total and scoring twice.
Bye had a six-month spell in Belgium after leaving City and has also appeared for Truro City.
He was appointed captain at Bideford during the summer and has played over 100 games for the Robins.
The Totton game was decided in the 74th minute when a shot from James Jennings glanced off Bye’s hip and into the goal.
Tiverton, who missed a few chances, suffered another blow when skipper James Richards was sent off for receiving two yellow cards.
