TIVERTON Town beat Plymouth Parkway 1-0 in the FA Cup yesterday.

In doing so the Yellows gained revenge for their 2-0 Devon Bowl defeat at the end of last season.

Owen Howe went close for Tivvy in the third minute, his shot at the far post from Josh Searle's cross being well saved by Josh Colwill.

Levi Landricombe was proving a handful for the Tivvy defence and twice could have put Parkway ahead, but Alex Faux's block and a great save from Chris Wright denied him.

The only goal of the game arrived in the 25th minute when Jamie Mudge's inviting cross from the right was headed home by Howe.

Landricombe should have equalised on 45 minutes, he broke clear but his lob sailed over the keeper and the bar.

Searle should have scored in the 51st minute after being set-up by sub Khalid Badavi, but shot wide with just Colwill to beat.

Ex-Tivvy forward Ryan Richards had a goal disallowed for offside, but with three minutes to go Tivvy should have scored again, Jesse Howe setting up fellow sub Ethan Phillips who somehow shot wide.

Tivvy will now entertain local rivals Bideford in the next round.

Man of the match: Ed Weeks (Tiverton) 4 stars.
