PADBROOK Park’s Seniors have given themselves a good chance of reaching the semi-final of the Emerton Court Trophy after the away leg of their tie against Tavistock.

Padbrook lost 3-2 and now hope to make home advantage count in the return.

The Seniors team beat Dinnaton 4-1 at Padbrook with Dave Turner and John Locke posting a three under gross score in their 5&3 win.

Kelvin Curtis won the latest 9 hole stableford with a score of 21 points. He finished two points ahead of Steve Held. Fifth place for ray Cavill means he maintains his lead in the season long race for the John Emerton Trophy. But his lead has been cut to just one point. Three players are two points further back with three events left to play.

Gary Stevenson is leading the season-long Order of Merit as it moves into the final third of the campaign. His lead is in part thanks to two early season wins and a number of top five finishes in the last few months. John Locke, who has also won twice, has closed the gap to eight points thanks to some excellent recent form. He is tied with Club Captain Rod Hutchings.
