EXETER City' slim fears of relegation from League Two disappeared yesterday when they won 2-0 at home to Scunthorpe.
Craig Woodman fired into the top corner from 25 yards for his first Exeter goal then Jimmy Keohane doubled the advantage after the break as keeper Sam Slocombe fumbled his low effort from the edge of the box.
Despite the defeat Scunthorpe were celebrating at the end of the match as other results mean they are now promoted.
The result ended the remarkable record of Scunthorpe boss Russ Wilcox record unbeaten start to a managerial career finally came to an end after 28 games.
