ANDY Hill posted an excellent score of 44 points to win the men’s January Midweek Stableford at Tiverton on Monday.

The 19-handicapper secured the Division Two prize by four from Steve Jack and Roger Norton.

Tony Allsopp continued his fine form by winning Division One with 42, which was underpinned by a one-under gross 70.

The five-handicapper, who had birdies on the 4th, 5th, 11th and 15th, finished one ahead of Nick Konig.

Jane Gould carded 38 points to win the ladies’ January Stableford on Wednesday.

The 17-handicapper had a two on the 14th and claimed the Division One prize ahead of Alison Hilton (35) and Charlotte Snow (28).

Jan Cruse (31) topped Division Two on a countback from Angela Short and Bridget Grieve.

In the nine-hole competition, Jo Lloyd-Davies (16) took the honours in front of Val Walker (15).

Jo Lloyd-Davies, Alison Hilton and Jane Gould came in with 71 Stableford points over 11 holes to win the ladies’ yellow ball team event. Rosemary Perry, Liz Hall and Sue Norris came second with 65 while Xanda Vass, Teresa Birchmore and Lesley Crossley were third on 59.

Last year’s captain, David Jack, amassed 43 Stableford points to win the third qualifier for the veterans’ Duckworth Salver.
