There are still a few places available on a four-day First Aid at Work course being held in central Croydon in July.
The Health and Safety Executive-approved course costs £91.67 per person and is available through the occupational health advisor for small businesses under a partnership project set up by Croydon Council and Croydon and Surrey Downs NHS Trust.
Candidates who successfully complete the course will be given a certificate valid for three years.
The course covers all aspects of emergency treatment including resuscitation, fractures, the first aid kit/accident reporting, and choking and control bleeding.
Every employer has to provide adequate equipment and facilities to enable first aid to be given in the workplace and must assess the need for qualified first aider provision.
This course offers an ideal opportunity to update expired
certificates or for employers to
address their legal responsibilities at minimal cost.
Local employers can contact Annie Bamford, the occupational health advisor for small businesses at Croydon and Surrey Downs NHS Trust on 020 8681 5170 for free and confidential
advice on their first aid at work needs, or for more information or to register on the first aid course.
CONTROVERSIAL plans for redeveloping land in Tiverton town centre were finally given the go-ahead by planners on Wednesday.
PEOPLE in Mid Devon with long-term health conditions are set to receive free support from trained tutors.
