Domino's store could create new jobs

JOBS could be created in Tiverton after national food chain Domino’s Pizza revealed it has plans to open a new store in the town.

The takeaway firm hopes to create between 25 and 30 jobs for people living in the area, with the business set to trade by 2013.

Domino’s Pizza has submitted plans for a store at the redeveloped Tiverton and District Hospital site.

The former hospital building has now been demolished and work has begun on redeveloping it. Domino’s Pizza spokesperson Angie Lawrence said: “We have identified Tiverton as having great potential for pizza.

“Domino’s Pizza takes its role as a responsible neighbour very seriously and our franchisees work very hard to play an active role in the community, not only by delivering great tasting pizza but also by supporting numerous charities, groups and events.”

“Domino’s Pizza currently has 748 stores in the UK and Ireland and we continually research and review locations across the country in which to open new stores. “If planning is granted we hope to open a new store in the town in early 2013.”

The news of the company’s plans for Tiverton come in the same week it announced plans for a large European expansion.

Among the Domino’s branches in the area are those at Exeter and Taunton.
