A Tiverton site manager is celebrating after scooping a hat-trick of awards at the National House-Building Council’s annual health and safety awards.

Devonshire Homes site manager Nick Bateman received three awards in the Best Site Small Builder’ category – Highly Commended, Regional Winner and the overall National Winner – for his work on Tiverton’s Moorhayes Park development. The awards are unique in recognising outstanding contributions to health and safety practice by house-builders across the UK.

A spokesperson for the National House-Building Council (NHBC) commented that Mr Bateman has demonstrated “a team approach to managing safety and is a highly conscientious site manager running a very tight ship”.

Mr Bateman has won a total of ten NHBC awards, seven of which were for the Moorhayes site. Commenting on his latest awards, the site manager said: “It is satisfying to receive a highly commended award from such a well regarded industry organisation and to go on and secure the national award feels fantastic.

“Safety is paramount in a site environment and these awards are important in helping to maintain and monitor good levels on a national scale.”

The extensive Moorhayes Park development is located in a popular area of Tiverton where Devonshire Homes is currently marketing its remaining two- and three-bedroom houses.

Paul Land, managing director of Devonshire Homes, added: “To win every round and then the ultimate award is a huge achievement and well deserved.

“Once again Nick proves the quality of his work, reflecting the high standards found throughout all our developments that deliver the best quality homes in the region.”
