A TIVERTON-based children’s writer is to share her writing knowledge through one of Petroc’s popular evening classes this month.
Author Amy Sparkes, whose works include the ‘Hodge the Hedgehog’ picture book and ‘Gruff’s Guides’ series for 4-8-year-olds, is currently finishing her first commissioned novel for older children.
She will be running the five-week course on Thursday evenings, starting on January 20.
Miss Sparkes said: “The course is for anyone who is interested in writing children’s stories, either hoping for publication or just writing for pleasure.
“The sessions include how to write picture books, junior fiction and novels for children, as well as how to approach publishers and agents.”
The author will also be running another course, ‘How to write for magazines’ on Thursday evenings, starting March 3.
