A TIVERTON mum-of-three will going for green as she prepares to take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon.

Sarah James will be sprinting along in a rather fetching green Children’s Hospice South West running shirt as she has chosen to support the charity in its 25th anniversary year.

Sarah’s mum, Chris Rutter, is the manager’s assistant at the CHSW charity shop in the town centre, and Sarah applied for a place through the charity.

Finding she had been fortunate to be selected after another runner pulled out, Sarah said: “As a mother of three, Children’s Hospice South West is a charity that you hope you never need the support of, but knowing that it is there makes all the difference.

“Running for the charity in its anniversary year makes it extra special, and I feel privileged to be part of all the fundraising activities taking place this year.”

Sarah’s intense training is well underway.

And the registered nurse, who is currently working with the Trust Development Authority, has a whole team of family and friends who will be travelling to London to support her.

She also has the full backing of the staff and volunteers at the Tiverton CHSW shop.

As one of the founders and treasurer of the local ‘Gin and Jam’ WI Group, Sarah is also hoping to fundraise through coffee mornings and sponsorship.
