CAN you offer a few volunteer hours for Children’s Hospice South West who will be opening new offices in Tiverton?

The charity is opening a new retail distribution centre at the Tiverton Business Park and is looking for volunteers to help support its new work.

Helen Fildes, head of retail, said: “We are so excited to be opening our new Tiverton offices.

“This resource will really help to streamline our retail activity and is a much more central location for us. We’re really hoping to involve the local community and look forward to welcoming lots of new volunteers to help support us.”

The premises in Chinon Court will provide a much needed resource to the charity which currently has 26 charity shops in the South West region and a growing eBay shop. This new space, which will open in April, will enable extra room and resources for volunteers, as well as additional office facilities for the whole charity and is a more central location to manage distribution.

The charity will be hosting open days for anyone interested in volunteering on Tuesday, February 16 and Wednesday, February 17 at the CHSW shop at Bampton Street, Tiverton.

With lots of options available from helping with the CHSW eBay shop, to general administration and retail help, these open days will give those who may be considering volunteering a chance to see what it entails.

Volunteering is a great way to give something back to the community and if you would like to help support the charity by offering some of your time, simply pop into the Tiverton shop or call Stephanie Robey on 01271-325270, volunteer@chsw.org.uk.

Children’s Hospice South West offers help and support to children that are not expected to live until adulthood. The charity has three hospices, including Little Bridge House in North Devon, and it provides a home from home caring environment for the whole family, including a team dedicated to looking after well brothers and sisters.

2016 also marks 25 years since the charity was first founded by Eddie Farwell and his late wife Jill, following their own experiences of caring for life-limited children. For more information as to how you can support CHSW in its 25th year see www.chsw.org.
