A COLD start to the day will lead into some bright sunshine with a cloudy outlook for the rest of this week.

As the week progresses cloud cover is expected to increase, although the current forecast has rain at very unlikely for the next five days.

In their South West summary, the Met Office said: "Another fine day is expected with further spells of sunshine for all areas, although with more in the way of cloud in the afternoon. It will feel cool in the north-easterly breeze."

The maximum temperature is expected to reach 12°C, before falling to a minimum temperature of 4°C overnight.

Tomorrow's forecast said: "Another cool and generally dry day with a little more cloud than previous days. However, most places will still see some sunny spells and the easterly winds will freshen.

The peak temperature is expected to rise 14°C.

As for the rest of the week, Met Office said: "Remaining predominantly dry throughout with variable amounts of cloud and some sunshine, although with a cool north-easterly breeze. Nights will be cold with a few mist patches developing in places."
