TWO men have been arrested after a man in his 20s was hit by a van in Tiverton on Tuesday (March 6).

Police say the local man was hit by a white Ford Transit van on or near Barrington Street in Tiverton.

An argument then broke out and the van drove off.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm, and an 18-year-old and a 22-year-old from the Liverpool area have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and GBH.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Detectives are keen to hear from anybody who may have witnessed this incident, partially or fully. "Officers are trying to piece together events and are appealing to anyone who was in Tiverton around the time of the incident to contact them if they believe they saw something that might help police with their enquiries.

“Tiverton CID currently has six detectives working on this case and has been assisted greatly by their uniform colleagues.”

Two men aged 22 and 18 both from the Liverpool area have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and GBH and remain in police custody. Enquiries are ongoing.
