STUDENTS from Tiverton High School put in a storming performance with their version of Macbeth, as part of the nationwide 'Shakespeare for Schools Festival.'
The students, who had been rehearsing for months, were one of three schools who took part in the evening performance at the Exeter Phoenix.
Angie Timms, Drama Teacher and Director of the piece said: “Our gang of witches surprised the audience with their sassy attitude and street slang vibe on the language of Shakespeare.”
A highlight of the show for the audience was the appearance of dazzling and shimmering Lady Macbeth (Caitlin Pritchard) slinking in to Peggy Lee’s “Fever” with the gang of witches surrounding her.
The whole cast ensemble contemporary piece was hailed as 'ground breaking’, and in the appraisal the cast were applauded for their brave setting of gangland Macbeth.
