A TIVERTON optician invited the town to celebrate its 25th anniversary by hosting a weekend of family-fun activities.

Specsavers, located at 31A Gold Street, staged a weekend of entertainment over the October 17, 18 and 19 - and the store invited the Tiverton community to join the three-day celebrations.

The festivities kicked off on the Friday and face painting, cupcakes, balloons and goody bags were available to everyone in the town.

Store director, Emma Denham, said: “We had a great weekend and were very pleased to share the experience with our local townspeople.

“We are at the heart of our community and run a family friendly business here in Tiverton.

“We have members of staff who have been with us for many years, such as Samantha Corrie who has been our HR Manager for the duration of the store's existence.

“We really value our loyal customers for their continued support - we wanted to give something back to our Tiverton community as it has given us so much.”

Specsavers supports several UK charities including Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Sound Seekers, the road safety charity Brake, the anti-bullying charity Kidscape and Vision Aid Overseas, for whom stores have raised enough funds to build a school of optometry in Zambia and open eyecare outreach clinics in much of the country.
