TIVERTON Parkway train station will be transformed into a live music venue once again this year, as the Two Moors Festival's mini concerts series returns to the station's ticket office for another season.
This year's festival will take place on five consecutive Sundays, starting on September 12, between the 11.38am and 12.09pm trains - and Penny Adie, Artistic Director of Two Moors Festival, said: “They're unusual, the standard of performance is exceptionally high, the station is central and easily accessible, the music is great, they're at elevenses time so a cup of coffee is welcome.
“Above all though, are the fabulous acoustics that happen to prevail inside the building.
“The high wooden apex together with the quarry tiled floor combine to make an ideal 'sound bouncing' space providing the sort of performance conditions concert halls and theatres crave.”
The station remains in operation throughout, without detracting from the musical impact.
Penny added: “If you've never experienced these events in previous years, come and discover for yourselves.
“The station staff love them, First Great Western thoroughly approves and the Station Manager, Tracy McCarthy lends her full support.
“If you should feel that the cost of parking is steep, bear in mind that there is no ticket charge - however, there is a collection for the Festival's education work in primary schools if you should feel like making a donation.”
Entry is free and no ticket is required.
