Cullompton man launches London camping initiative

7:00am Saturday 2nd June 2012

A CULLOMPTON man has launched an initiative to transform sports clubs around London into campsites for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Geoff Vaughan's project - Camping at the Games - will see 3,000 tents pitched across London and the South-East offering family accommodation from £10 a night.

Geoff said: “This scheme will make London accessible to everyone this summer and camping is such a great way to bring people together.

“My family will all be coming to London this year and we'll be enjoying the camping and making friends along the way.”

Politicians, tourism industry leaders and Games Makers - volunteers staffing Olympic events this summer - have all spoken in favour of the idea, both because of its originality and affordability.
