FAMILY and friends of a young mum and former Uffculme School student, who died after a car crash on Saturday, have paid tribute to her 'bright and joyful spirit'.

Chloe Dearsley, 23, died at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital after the Volkswagen Polo she was travelling in was in collision with a Ford Focus at about 1am.

She leaves a four-year-old son, Finnley, who is now being cared for by her family.

Chloe grew up in Clayhidon with her brothers Ben and Marc, sister Emma and parents Peter and Alison Dearsley. She went to Uffculme School and worked at Hemyock Primary School.

Mr and Mrs Dearsley said this week: "We have been so touched by everyone's love, prayers and kind words of support.

“It is a comfort to know just how much Chloe was loved and will be missed by so many. She was a gentle, loving daughter, sister and mum.”

Her grandparents Geoffrey and Irene Dearsley said: “She was a precious and deeply loving granddaughter.

“She was kind and considerate and we have much respected her loving care of Finnley.” Chloe's brother Ben is among the scores of people to have written tributes on social networking site Facebook.

He wrote: “I'm still expecting you to come through the door - smiling as always.

“You were always here for me whenever I needed you and I wish I could tell you how grateful I am. Our family isn't going to be the same.”

N AN 18-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail.
