A CHURCH near Bradninch was set ablaze last night in a suspected arson attack.
Fire crews from Tiverton and Exeter arrived at the scene, in Millway, at about 11pm to find smoke and flames coming from the church annex.
A further two crews from Exeter and Tiverton attended the incident after back-up was requested.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze, located in the roof and on the first floor.
It was extinguished using two hose reel jets and two main jets.
A thermal imaging camera was also used.
A fire spokesman said the incident is believed to have been caused by deliberate ignition.
Police officers also attended the scene.
