STUDENTS and staff from East Devon College in Tiverton were proud to hand over a cheque for £666.08 to Ken Lancaster, Trustee of Hospiscare, from funds they had raised at their charity Catwalk Fashion Show, held in the college's Exe Restaurant last month.
The combined efforts of students resulted in a dazzling show of futuristic fashions.
Catwalk models also wore fashions from a bygone era, dating back to the 1950s, on loan from the Tiverton Museum.
Guests attending the event were delighted to see the many beehive hairdos, finger waves and a variety of other hair-styles with make-overs giving each era the right look.
Hairdressing & beauty therapy students had spent many months creating mood boards, discussing designs and inspirations, practicing weaving with feathers, plaits, crimping irons and make-over designs and techniques to create and complement each era.
Art and design students had also spent many months devising concepts and producing their futuristic outfits, a project inspired by mechanical forms, led by art lecturer and organiser of the event, Sam Bray.
Graphic design students had been given a concept and brief to create the promotional materials and tickets.
Catering students had made and served an assortment of canapés to an audience of almost 200 guests on the night.
For anyone interested in seeing the fashions from a bygone era including futuristic fashions on loan from East Devon College, they will be on display at the Tiverton Museum in their exhibition entitled 'Fashion for All', until October 3.
