A CULLOMPTON dog agility teacher made sure it was a double celebration at this year’ s Crufts after she and her four-legged friend strolled away with a top prize.

The show this year celebrated the 125th anniversary of the world’ s largest dog show.

Naarah Cuddy, 21, and five-year-old Border Collie Sassy fought off competition from a host of other dogs to scoop the coveted Best of Breed award.

Sassy was one of nearly 22,000 dogs at Birmingham’ s NEC last week for the prestigious dog show.

Crufts first took place in 1891 where it featured just 2,437 entries.

And after seeing her beloved pet pooch put her best paw for - ward at Crufts 2016, presented by the Kennel Club, Naarah was left beaming with pride at her and Sassy’ s performance in the West Midlands.

She said it was a tight final but they’ll definitely be back to the show next year.

Naarah added: “It’ s really lovely, it’ s very exciting to win although scary at the same time.

“It was a really tight final, and it kept me and Sassy on our toes.

“It came down to a few milliseconds.

“We will definitely be back next year if she qualifies.

“Both myself and the dog absolutely adore this event.

“The crowds are amazing and the atmosphere was electric.”
