A TERRIFIED kitten who was abandoned outside a London kebab shop in sub-zero temperatures is being cared for at Blue Cross pet charity in Tiverton.

Little Donna was discovered inside a taped up shoebox. without any bedding, food or water, by a member of the public last week in freezing conditions.

After treatment at the Blue Cross animal hospital in South London, the black kitten was transferred to the charity’s Tiverton rehoming centre to start her search for a happy new home.

Jay Cruikshanks, rehoming centre manager at Tiverton Blue Cross, said: “Donna is lucky she was found when she was, otherwise she might not have survived the night in those temperatures.

“She was only around five weeks old when she was found, too young to be away from her mum, so we will need to care for her until she’s old enough to find a home. She’s a really sweet, friendly little kitten and she loves cuddles.”

Blue Cross cares for 40,000 sick, injured and homeless pets every year, and encourages people to contact an animal charity if they can no longer care for their pet.

Donna will soon be ready to find a home. To find out more about Blue Cross and how you can help, visit www.bluecross.org.uk.
