SUNSHINE and showers are on the menu today, with bright spells this afternoon set to turn wet in the evening.

The forecast is warning that temperatures could fall to freezing, with frost and ice likely.

In their South West summary, Met Office said: "Wet through the morning with heavy and persistent rain in places.

"This should ease to leave a drier afternoon with sunny spells and isolated showers. Turning colder through the day as winds strengthen from the north."

The maximum temperature is set to reach around 10°C, before falling to a minimum of 0°C overnight.
