WORK has now begun on installation of new play equipment at Bradninch Recreation Ground.

£30,000 worth of grants had been sought by the Town Council to put in the biggest amount of new equipment in a very long time.

Following consultation with residents of Bradninch it was agreed that a new wooden hut, roundabout and table tennis table would be installed.

The works are expected to take two weeks to complete, with a big opening planned in the near future.

Most of the grant money was secured from waste management company Viridor, who have already supported several other causes in the Town.

Town Cllr Luke Taylor said: “It's really great to see new equipment coming into the park all ready for the summer season to start.

This project is planned to be phase 1 of 2, with even more redevelopments and new equipment being installed in the near future.

Town Cllr Mike Leonard said: “The park is an important part of the Town and these improvements will make it even better.”
