PUPILS at Uplowman and Halberton primary schools performed experiments at a Magic Science Day on Wednesday.
Class one teacher Richard Lough, said: “Today’s Magic Science Day at Uplowman School was a chance for the youngest pupils, those in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2, to get to know each other by exploring science together in a series of fun activities.
“Among their achievements were making melon bread, causing eruptions of coloured soap suds with baking powder and citric acid, and testing ideas to do with forces, such as firing ‘rocket mice’ from the tops of plastic bottles.
“The management partnership arrangement between the two schools has given the children an opportunity to have fun with new friends.
“Today was the latest in a series of such events.”
