BRADNINCH Folk Club is starting 2015 with one of the most popular folk groups in Devon.

Devonbird are no strangers to Bradninch having dipped into a number of events in the town, including a support spot at the folk club, which is featuring them as guest artists on Tuesday, January 20.

Devonbird combine traditional foot-stomping jigs and reels with original haunting ballads and songs, often having their origins in old Devonshire folklore and dialect.

The trio – Kath Bird, singer-songwriter is supported by Sophia Colkin on violin and Robert Wheaton on guitar.

Each member of the group makes a distinctive contribution to the hard-working band.

The group's interaction with the audience and frequent collaborations with other artists underlines their standing with audiences and fellow performers.

Support spots on the night include singer-songwriters John Middleton and Greg Hancock.

Advance tickets will also be on sale at the January Guest Night for Ninebarrow, who are at the club on Tuesday, February 17.

Entry is £4 on the door at the Castle Hotel for an 8pm start.BRADNINCH Folk Club is starting 2015 with one of the most popular folk groups in Devon.
