CULLOMPTON Community College raised more than £300 for charity when it supported Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The college organised a coffee and cake week from September 22-26, which raised £373.
College teacher Liz Hogan said: “We were thrilled to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Macmillan is a fantastic cause and the students were really excited about hosting an event.
“They did so well and I am so proud of them.”
Exams officer Caroline Goldsbrough said: “It was great to see so many people come along and support them in raising as much money as possible for the charity.”
Deputy head teacher Mrs Duffy said: “It’s been such an amazing whole school charity drive – we are so impressed with the amount raised.”
Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event sees people across the UK hold a coffee morning and raise money for people living with cancer. In 2013, 154,000 people signed up, raising a record £20million.
