MID Devon charity Hospiscare is calling on the ladies across Exeter, mid and east Devon to get the girls together and get sponsored to walk 12k for their local hospice.

The annual Ladies Starlight Walk will take place on Saturday 10th May along the beautiful Exmouth coastline.

This popular event starting and finishing at the Exmouth Rugby Club offers the chance to remember the life of a loved one whilst having a memorable evening out with the girls.

The walk kicks off with a zumba warm-up, featuring Exmouth rugby players and The Exmouth Shanty Men and finishes with a well earned bacon buttie!

This year Hospiscare are encouraging participants to wear sparkle and glitter as they ‘shine for their local hospice’.

There is no need for men to feel left out! The event will need over 80 volunteers to help the evening run smoothly. Volunteers will help out in the event arena and on route as marshals.

Events Fundraiser Hannah Slater said: “Volunteers play a vital role at Hospiscare events. Without volunteers we wouldn’t be able to hold events like the Starlight Walk. Volunteers play a crucial role ensuring the event runs smoothly and participants feel motivated.’’ Hospiscare provides high quality specialist and supportive end of life care for patients and their families in Exeter, mid and east Devon.
